- TREASURY BILLS (T-BILLS)
A short-term government security, sold through the Federal Reserve Bank by competitive bidding at weekly and monthly auctions, in denominations from $10,000 to $1 million. T-bills are the most widely used of all government debt securities and are a primary instrument of Federal Reserve monetary policy. Treasury bills are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government.Back
