QHow Do I Apply For A Plus Loan?
AThere are three ways you can apply for a loan. You may apply online, request the application forms by mail or complete an application over the phone with a loan specialist by calling 800.404.4616. In all cases, we do require a signed application before we can begin processing your application. Once we receive your application, weÒll immediately perform the credit check and start to process the application with the originator, school and guarantor. You may check the status of your application by logging into My Loan Center. If you don't pass the credit check, you still have other options, such as asking a relative or friend to endore the loan. Please note that it is advisable that you fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) in order to determine if your child is eligible for financial aid. The FAFSA will also help you determine how much money to borrow. Generally, the amount requested should cover the unmet need, the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and the 3% origination fee.
