AEligibility for a PLUS loan is determined by a variety of factors that relate to the parent, student and in some cases, an endorser. In general, the borrower needs to be: 1. A US citizen or permanent resident 2. Securing a loan for their full-time or part-time dependent undergraduate student 3. Have a credit worthy score meeting minimum lender requirements 4. Not in default on loans in any SFA (student financial aid) program
