- BOOK VALUE PER SHARE
The equity value of an outstanding share of stock calculated by subtracting a company's liabilities from its assets and dividing by the number of shares outstanding. Book value tells an investor how much a share of stock might be worth from an accountant's point of view; it is not the same as a stock's market price.Back
