- DELIVERY POINT
In a Futures Contract (q.v.) the location where the short must deliver the underlying "commodity" to the long. This can be crucial in the case of physical products, transportation bottlenecks can make it easier for the longs to squeeze the shorts. In April, 1996, the CBOT tried to eliminate Toledo, Ohio as a delivery point. Farmers and processors who favored delivery there complained to the CFTC, which delayed approval of the change in the contract.
