• GROWTH FUND
  
  A mutual fund that invests in growth stocks. Investors who want high capital appreciation tend to invest in growth stocks, which are less conservative than income funds. Income from dividends usually is not a goal of these funds. Growth funds often have high P/E ratios because managers are willing to pay a premium for stocks of fast-growing companies.
